SERVING IN HONG KONG.

At present the establishment is as follows :

Auditor

£1,400.

on £450-£50-£700.

The Governor proposes that it should be altered to :-

1 Auditor

£1,350 with free

quarters, reckoned at £150 a year for

pension.

£920 with a non pensionable

allowance (drawn only while in Hong Kong)

at the rate of £50 (or $840) a year from

£520 to £920 inclusive, rising to £100 (or

$1,680) after the officer has been on a

salary of £920 for one year.

2. Subject to two assumptions and one alteration,

I consider that the above proposals are suitable for

adoption for the time being (as regards the future see

paragraph 7 below.)

3. The alteration which I desire is that there

should be two distinct and separate grades below the

Auditor

namely :-

Senior Assistant Auditor and

Assistant Auditor.
